STEVE STOUTE GOES OFF ABOUT "THE GRAMMY'S"
As if the Grammy's needed to hear about flack for Justin Beiber not winning "Best New Artist" ....lolol
So far it seems that the Grammy's are staged (in my opion)...lol from SADE being nominated as a group (a group!?!?!) ..WTH !!! Or what about Monica NOT winning atleast ONE Grammy since she did have the longest R&B record last year that lasted about September of 2010..lol.
Steve Stoute,a Hip-Hop mogul/advertising executive Steve Stoute took out a full page ad in today's (February 20th) New York Times, calling out Neil Portnow, NARAS and the Grammy Awards over their treatment of rap music.
According to Steve, the 2011 Grammy Awards were proof that the organization has lost touch with pop culture.
"Does the Grammys intentionally use artists for their celebrity, popularity and cultural appeal when they already know the winners and then program a show against this expectation? Meanwhile the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences hides behind the "peer" voting system to escape culpability for not even rethinking its approach," Stoute snapped.
Fans of Eminem,Justin Bieber,Rihanna,or B.O.B.,some of 2010 best-selling artists, were outraged when some of the artists were snubbed in their top categories by lesser known artists, who weren't as popular who won these categories.
2011 Grammy's enjoyed the highest ratings for the evening, prompting Stoute to accuse the Grammy's of using Hip-Hop and rap friendly artists like Justin Bieber, for their popularity to keep ratings.
"I think that next year there will be another televised super-close-up of an astonished front-runner as they come to the realization before a national audience... that he or she was used."
Steve Stoute is the founder of Translation, a company that has worked with many top companies such as Reebok,State Farm, Target,Lady Gaga, Mary J. Blige, Jay-Z, McDonalds, Beyonce, and Nas.
DO YOU THINK THE GRAMMY'S ARE OUT OF TOUCH OR BORING OR JUST NOT EXCITING ANYMORE ??
