ARTIST SPOTLIGHT : COLIE WILLIAMS (www.coliewilliams.com)
Interviewing this young lady was TRULYYYY an experience and thats HONESTLY SPEAKING coming from us THE RAYDIO TWINS !!
COLIE WILLIAMS light shines into the darkness of musical mediocrity and from the shadows emerges a fresh new beautiful pesonality with a voice to match and her audience is ALWAYS PLEASANTLY SUPRISED.
Born and raised in the Bronx, New York, Colette Williams (affectionately known to her friends as Colie) took the stage after her junior high school teacher recognized her vocal talent. She encouraged Colie to attend Music & Arts High School in Harlem where she majored in vocal studies. After graduation, Colie continued her studies at Syracuse University where she participated in their musical theatre program. Although an education major, performing piqued Williams’ inherent love for music and provided her with a restorative experience that she would be unable to deny.
Miss Williams Goes to Washington
Colie’s devotion to music and theatre led her to Washington, D.C. There she began touring and performing with various professional theatre productions, most notably, the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. After concluding her theatre work, Colie turned her focus to developing her own distinctive sound. “I’ve always felt a strong connection to legends like Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway, Roberta Flack and Sade.” Spirited by the influence of these legendary greats, Colie began honing a melodious style all her own.
HOLISTIC SOUL
With a vision for her sound and a new band, COLIE WILLIAMS f/SOUL FOR A NEW DAY,they complement each other naturally with effortless precision during their performances of timeless covers and enticing originals. Most times compared to songstresses like Jill Scott and Teena Marie, Colie’s musical style uniquely blends sounds of sultry jazz and classic R&B with therapeutic elements that speak to the mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being of her listeners. This singer/songwriter creates music to lift, inspire and share her truth. Colie's performances intentionally set out to create intimate landscapes where she connects and shares her vision with the audience.
Since moving to Washington D.C., Colie continues to grow in popularity by frequently appearing in famous U Street corridor venues that include, BUS BOYS and POETS, THE ISLANDER, and JO-JO's. Colie’s audiences frequently request her original material during her performances. Melodic originals such as "ANGEL" and "ALL YOU NEED" embody a balance of spirit, melody and rhythms. Co-written with producers THE CRANK BROTHERS, her style fuses Go-Go, Latin, Classic R&B and Jazz to create a breath of fresh air to the urban adult contemporary music scene.
After interviewing Ms.Colie Williams its obvious that with her amzing voice and personality, being an author, poet and amazing singer, Ms Colie Williams will definitely become what she's destined to be....A MAJOR FORCE in this recording industry and the world will stand up and take notice !!
As Williams reaches back to call upon the classic styles of Ella, Sarah and Billy to inspire her music, her message reaches forward towards today’s audiences.
ARTIST SPOTLIGHT : WINSTON WARRIOR (www.winstonwarrior.com)
This Atlanta singer and songwriter, Winston Warrior broke on to the music scene in the 90's with a group call,Lo’ Profile, with two hit singles, “Missing You” and “Play Melody” which burned its way up the charts in Miami and South Beach. This group was son in demand that they ended up as opening acts for such big name acts like such as Mary J. Blige, and Bone Thugs N Harmony. But just as soon as the road became a road with direction ....the group went there separate ways which sidelined Winston's dream of a career in the music business (he may not have realized it at the time but GOD was setting him up for something BIG).

While the career took a slight turn he took the time away and copped a degree in BUSINESS from the University of Miami and had plenty of production and performance experience under his belt to pursue a path in marketing. Sometimes in life you have to organize the confusion around you to see what it is that you have your sights on and in this case ....it was Winston's love for music.
He never lost some of the contacts and friendships that he made in the industry and started working with Don Vito and Sean McMillion from Don Vito Productions (DVP) and Selasi “The African Kid”. Atlanta-based producer, Don Vito, widely known for work with Ciara,Jagged Edge, and Yung Joc, to name a few, was an early believer and advocate of Winston’s objective. DVP’s cross genre adaptability and trendsetting sounds will undoubtedly add a cutting-edge element to Winston’s project, which is scheduled for an early 2011 release.
