THROWBACK: ANITA BAKER "I APOLOGIZE"
Anita Baker(born January 26, 1958, in Toledo, Ohio, and raised in Detroit, Michigan) is an American R&B/soul jazz singer-songwriter.Anita Baker has won eight Grammy Awards, and has four platinum albums and two gold albums to her credit.
She released her second album, Rapture, in 1986. Produced by her friend Michael J. Powell (from the Detroit soul band Chapter 8), Baker wrote several tracks for the album herself including "Been So Long" and "Watch Your Step", and co-wrote the single "Sweet Love" which became her first mainstream hit; it peaked at number eight on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, number two on the U.S. Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, also making the Top 20 in the United Kingdom. "Caught Up in the Rapture", "No One in the World", and "Same Ole Love" also became major R&B and adult contemporary chart hits during 1986 and 1987. Rapture remains Baker's biggest-selling album and went on to sell nearly eight million copies worldwide. It also earned Baker two Grammy Awards in 1987: Best R&B Vocal Performance, Female for the album and Best Rhythm & Blues Song for "Sweet Love". A show from Baker's world tour, entitled A Night of Rapture, was filmed and released on home video (and DVD in 2007).
In 1987, Baker collaborated with The Winans on the single "Ain't No Need to Worry", which earned Baker her third Grammy Award the following year, in the Best Soul Gospel Performance by a Duo or Group, Choir or Chorus category.
On August 6, 2012, Baker debuted the first single from her new album Only Forever. The song, "Lately", is a remake of the 1999 hit by R&B singer/actor Tyrese and was produced by The Underdogs, Anita Baker, and Don Was. The track premiered at 10 a.m. on all Urban Adult Contemporary radio stations run by Clear Channel. By playing the single every hour on the hour throughout the day, she became the first artist to make this kind of debut on Urban Adult Contemporary radio. "Lately" was available for digital download on August 7, 2012 on iTunes.
The new album Only Forever is slated for an October 23, 2012 release via Blue Note Records/EMI.

MICHAEL CLARKE DUNCAN 12/10/1957 - 08/03/2012
Michael Clarke Duncan (December 10, 1957 – September 3, 2012) was an American actor, best known for his breakout role as John Coffey in The Green Mile, for which he was nominated for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe. He is also recognized for his appearances in famous motion pictures such as Armageddon, The Whole Nine Yards, Brother Bear, and Daredevil as well as voice acting roles in works such as Delgo.

The Talk : Michael Clarke Duncan on Omarosa & Kissing Scenes
Duncan took other security jobs while in Los Angeles while trying to get some acting work in commercials. During this time, he worked as a bodyguard for celebrities like Will Smith, Martin Lawrence, Jamie Foxx, LL Cool J, and Notorious B.I.G. all the while doing bit parts in television and films. When the Notorious B.I.G. was killed in 1997, Duncan quit this line of work.
In 1998, Duncan was cast as Bear in the film Armageddon, where he struck up a friendship with castmate Bruce Willis. It was Bruce Willis' influence that helped him to get his breakout role as John Coffey in the Frank Darabont-directed The Green Mile, a role which netted him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor in a Supporting Role and a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture.

Duncan then was cast in a string of films that helped to establish him as a star: The Whole Nine Yards, Planet of the Apes, The Scorpion King (where he starred alongside his friend, The Rock), The Island and Daredevil as Wilson Fisk, aka The Kingpin. At first glance, Wilson Fisk appears to be an overweight corporate head nicknamed Kingpin, while in fact he is the sole person running organized crime. Duncan signed on for the role in January 2002, though he had been attached far earlier. When Duncan was cast, he weighed 290 pounds. He was asked to gain 40 pounds for the role in order to fit the physique of Kingpin. In order to do this, he would lift weights for 30 minutes a day, and power-lifted with one or two reps a day, as well as eating whatever he wanted. Despite this, Duncan's biggest concern was that he is black, whilst Kingpin has always been portrayed as white. He spoke on the fan's loyalty to the source material by saying "they watch movies to say, 'Hey, that's not like the comic book.' But I want them to get past that and just see the movie for what it is and see me for what I am—an actor." In July 2006, Duncan showed interest in returning for the role of the Kingpin, but stated that he would not be willing to gain weight as he felt "comfortable" being down to 270 pounds. However, he jokingly showed willingness to change his mind if he was offered $20 million. Duncan suggested that the character be portrayed as having been training a lot in jail in order to become faster in combat against Daredevil, also working as a way to fit his weight loss into the story. In 2009, he stopped eating meat and later appeared in a PETA ad campaign, touting the health benefits and his increased strength from a vegetarian diet.Duncan has also provided his voice for a number of roles including Brother Bear and its sequel, Brother Bear 2, The Land Before Time XI: Invasion of the Tinysauruses, Quiznos commercials, and the video games Demon Stone, SOCOM II: U.S. Navy SEALs, The Suffering: Ties That Bind, Saints Row, and Soldier of Fortune, with his most recent role being God of War II, where he provides the voice of Atlas, the Titan condemned by Zeus to stand at the western edge of the earth and hold up the sky on his shoulders. He reprised his role as the Kingpin in Spider-Man: The New Animated Series.
In 2005, he starred in the film Sin City (again alongside Bruce Willis) as Manute, a powerful mobster. Duncan appeared in a minor role in the 2006 movie Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby as Lucius Washington, and he voiced the role of the villain Massive in the Loonatics Unleashed. In 2006, he voiced the role of Numbuh 26 in the animated movie Codename: Kids Next Door: Operation ZERO. He played Balrog in Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li and voiced the prison commander in Kung Fu Panda.
He has also guest starred in numerous television shows. He appeared in an episode of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody "Benchwarmers" as Zack's basketball coach, Coach Little (Which Zack poked fun at, since the "Little" was somewhat ironic due to his large build). In 2005, Duncan guest-starred in a first-season episode of CSI: NY. He appeared as "Colt" in the second-season premiere of Chuck, "Chuck Versus The First Date". In November he appeared as a guest star on the CBS show Two and a Half Men. In April 2011 Duncan guest starred on an episode of TV series Bones as Leo Knox. In 2012, Duncan got his first starring role as the same character in the spinoff series The Finder. In the same year, he appeared in a public service announcement advertising the importance of knowing early-onset symptoms of strokes.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT:Big Poppa John (John The Baptist)
Big Poppa John aka John The Baptist
came to our attention from an individual who heard my twin and I on our radio show (E.N.T. Radio for those that don’t know…if you don’t know you better ask somebody…lol ) When we were told that we should check this guy out were like ummmm ok cool. We tend to give everybody a chance so I took his name down and info.I was told to check out his link and after about maybe 3 weeks I sat down and listened to songs as I normally do to decided what we will play that is new and fresh. Well I listened and I listened to the song “Demonstration” .
Song started of like it was headed into reggae…I-WAS-WRONG! (I love reggae…so please don’t get it twisted…lol) Then the beat stopped…there was silence then this bass came over the speakers and I had to stop it and look around(as if someone else was in the room along with me….lol) I started it again and I was FULLY impressed with what I heard! Called my brother in to listen and he said ok…now remember that guy I told you about well I’m about to play it .He said ok (like as if he was about to be disappointed and then when the music began he said to me STOP! We looked at each other and said OMG! We playing this song and we been ROCKIN this song on the show cuz we love it that much! With that being said his name is John Wesley Moorer a.k.a Big Poppa John aka John The Baptist. Most don’t know that there are deserts in the lives of men today; deserts of poverty and distress, deserts of pain and dissolution, and deserts of anger and fear. John the Baptist was called a forerunner. He was named "a voice of one"; a voice of one calling in the desert telling his listeners to prepare the way and make straight the path for the Lord.

Today, there is a new forerunner with the same name and the same heart, to prepare the way and make straight the path for the Lord. For in the deserts of sin and deception, there is still one crying out to youth everywhere. Oh yeah we also found out that this man has graced the stage with such icons as, LL Cool J, EPMD,Ce Ce Winans, Bishop Marvin Winans, Canton Jones, and Mary Mary. With a record like that come on he’s bound to BLOW UP!
He has a unique blend of RAP and Caribbean propels him into the periphery of the urban youth culture without dissociating him from the traditional and contemporary music that anyone can enjoy. He has many influences, that you can hear in his music such as gospel, soul, hip hop, and some from his immediate family rooted in Nassau, Bahamas and Cuba. Those influences become brilliantly alive in his music, fusing his veteran rhyming skills with tight beats and ingenious producing.
We all have been “up and down”and “in and out” of this crazy thing called life and John is no different. He just chose to take his life experiences and turned his life around and this was done by finding the Lord himself and sharing his experiences by doing the next best thing…teaching others, schoolin them, showing them there is more to life then the fast life ,the wrong road, there is life beyond the streets. There is a person that matters and that’s YOU!
