ARTIST SPOTLIGHT / THROWBACK: SWV Sisters With Voices "You're The One"

Sisters With Voices...remember that big time R&B female group? You dont remember well they also went by SWV...lol... now u remember.Well they are coming back after about a 13 year period of being out of the lime light as a group.SWV has inked a new deal with Mass Appeal Entertainment and E1 (formerly Koch Records) to release their fourth studio album. The group has decided to have Cory Taylor as a manager.Cory Taylor tells Singersroom, “It’s truly an amazing feeling to work with such incredible talent.”

SWV already have in the works a tour,a reality show (their very own documentary series that will highlight their previous success, their breakup, return to music, the rebuilding of their relationships, as well as the groups desire to inspire other women to follow their dreams)and of course a new CD.

SWV garnered enormous attention with their auspicious debut. They received nominations for a Grammy Award, an American Music Award and The Source Award in 1993. They won a Children's Choice Award and a BET "Best of Video Soul" Award. As if that weren't enough, they wowed audiences on a national tour with Bobby Brown, were "poster girls" for Cross Colours, appeared on "The Tonight Show", "Arsenio Hall", "New York Undercover", hosted "Showtime At The Apollo", and were chronicled in several notable publications, such as People, Us, Ebony, Essence, USA Today and Vibe. So, there you have it, the SWV whirlwind, to which they've added RELEASE SOME TENSION.They themselves werent to happy with that cd but The Raydio Twins thought it was a "banga"!

SWV burst on the scene in 1992 with their RCA debut, ‘It’s About Time,’ which sold over three million copies and spawned a string of top-ten hits that included: "I’m So Into You," “Right Here," "Downtown," and "Weak." The group’s second release, ‘New Beginning’ also went double-platinum and included number one hits: "You’re the One" and The Neptunes’ produced track "Use Your Heart." In 1997, SWV dropped their final album ‘Release Some Tension,’ which also went platinum, logged several top-ten bangers such as "Someone" with Sean Diddy Combs, “Can We” from the Booty Call soundtrack featuring trendsetter Missy Elliot and the sensual single “Rain” with longtime collaborator Brian Morgan. Many other hits followed until they decided to part ways and fans have been wanting and praying for this day...namely us!...lol
