SPOTLIGHT : 8 AFRICAN-AMERICANS WHO RECEIVE EMMY AWARD NOMINATIONS for 2011

This past Thursday,July 14,2011 the nominees were announced for this upcoming Emmy Awards.

For a long time African-Americans to be seen on film was non existent. As we bust open the doors of The Emmy's we seem to slowly are just now having more nominations than ever before (it's about time!) .But now that we have the door open can we now actually have all 8 walk thru the door with awards ???? Good questions and we ALL have to just wait and see. Here's to the ALL the nominees... CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Andre Braugher,nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama for his role in TNT’s “Men of a Certain Age” .








Laurence Fishburne,for an Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie -for his role as Thurgood Marshall in the HBO movie.




Taraji P. Henson for Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie nomination her role as Tiffany Rubin in the Lifetime movie, “Taken From Me: The Tiffany Rubin Story.”








Alfre Woodard for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for a episode of HBO's "True Blood."








and Idris Elba for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for a one-time role on "The Big C."

were among the Emmy nominees revealed Thursday morning.

Also, Fox’s “The Cleveland Show,”
which features three black actors - which features




Sanaa Lathan,
Reagan Gomez-Preston

and
Kevin Michael Richardson
- was nominated for Outstanding Animated Series, and will face “Futurama,” “Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode III,” “The Simpsons” and “South Park” in the category.
